Puerto Vallarta Location

Puerto Vallarta lies on the Pacific Coast in the center of Mexico’s deepest and widest bay, the Bahia Banderas (Bay of Flags) straddling the states of Nayarit to the north, with Puerto Vallarta found in the neighboring state of Jalisco – home of tequila and mariachi – to the south.

A number of rivers flow into the bay throughout the year from the overgrown jungle which cover the surrounding hillsides, creating a lush backdrop for the numerous outdoor adventures and explorations that can be experienced.
